On January 28, 2025, the IFE Conference kicks off in Monterrey, Mexico. It aims to inspire fresh ideas for a brighter future in education.

During the opening ceremony, Juan Pablo Murra, the Rector of Tecnológico de Monterrey, said that blending technology with teaching skills is key to changing education for the better.

The conference’s theme, Driving the Future of Education with Innovation and Technology, encourages discussions on how schools can use technology wisely to prepare future citizens. José Escamilla from IFE noted that they aim to learn, connect, and inspire everyone involved in education, from primary school to universities.

Escamilla mentioned that technology like artificial intelligence and online learning is changing education quickly, making it more personalized and accessible. These advancements are vital for helping students thrive in a digital world.

Over 110 university leaders will come together for discussions on “Transforming Higher Education”, focusing on both challenges and solutions in today’s educational landscape.

A special forum will also gather educators and entrepreneurs to discuss how to collaborate better in educational technology.

The conference features events like the panel “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Expectation vs. Reality.” Key speakers, including Michael Fung and Paulo Blikstein, explored how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human roles in education. They emphasized the need for human interaction even in a tech-driven world.

The event will include over 250 sessions, including talks on emerging tech, sustainability, and more, uniting around 29,000 participants from diverse education backgrounds over the past decade.

The Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) is committed to improving education through research and innovation, collaborating with various partners to shape a better future for learners everywhere.

Tecnológico de Monterrey, known for excellence and innovation, has been nurturing talent since 1943 and serves thousands of students across its many campuses in Mexico. It ranks highly in national and global education metrics.
