Don’t Miss the Inaugural Diamond State Cat Show: A Purr-fect Weekend for Cat Lovers in Maumelle!

Get ready for the Diamond State Cat Show! This exciting event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Maumelle Community Center, located at 1100 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle.

It’ll showcase more than 40 cat breeds in eight judging rings. You can see both pedigreed cats and household pets, all evaluated by expert judges from the Cat Fanciers’ Association.

Categories include Championship for breeding cats, Premiership for spayed and neutered cats, Kittens aged 4-8 months, and Household Pets, which are mixed breed or companion cats.

Shop for cat-themed goodies from vendors and local artisans. Don’t miss the Feline Agility Competition and the fun Cat Costume Contest. Plus, the Maumelle Animal Shelter and Community Cats of Central Arkansas will have cats ready for adoption.

MUSIC

Enjoy an evening of music with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Youth Ensembles on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Mills University Studies High School, 708 E. Dixon Road, Little Rock.

The Prelude Orchestra will perform pieces like “La Petite Danseuse” and a finale arrangement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. The intermediate Academy Orchestra will present “Die Moldau” and Mozart’s Symphony No. 25.

The advanced Youth Orchestra, conducted by ASO Music Director Geoffrey Robson, will perform alongside symphony members, featuring works by Wagner, Mussorgsky, and Elgar.
