Varanasi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express: The highly awaited Vande Bharat Express between Varanasi and Khajuraho is set to make its inaugural run on November 8. Operated by the Northern Railway, this train will enhance travel between these two culturally rich cities.
The inaugural journey will be unreserved, providing a chance for many to experience the new semi-high-speed service. Experts believe this train will significantly boost tourism, making it easier for travelers to explore the stunning temples of Khajuraho and the spiritual charm of Varanasi.
Scheduled Stops: On its inaugural trip, the train will stop at six stations: Varanasi, Vindhyachal, Prayagraj Chheoki, Chitrakutdham, Banda, and Mahoba. This connectivity is expected to bring more visitors and economic benefits to the areas along the route.
Timetable: The train will depart from Varanasi at 08:05 AM, reaching Khajuraho by 4:25 PM. In the commercial run, designated as train number 26422/26421, it will cover 443 kilometers in approximately 7 hours and 40 minutes, making it the fastest service on that route.
Operating six days a week, with a break on Thursdays, the Vande Bharat Express will feature eight coaches, including seven air-conditioned chair cars and one executive chair car. This design aims to enhance passenger comfort and experience.
Recently, a study by Indian Railways noted that train services like the Vande Bharat Express are crucial for regional economic uplift, showing a potential increase in passenger numbers by over 25% in the first year.
