Staten Island is gearing up for a special event! The NYC Soul Food Festival will return to Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden on Sunday, August 31, 2025. After a successful first year, everyone is excited to get together again.

Chef Shaw-naé Dixon, who runs the well-loved Shaw-naé’s House, is leading the festival. She believes this event is vital for Staten Island and NYC as a whole. “Thank you for being a part of something monumental,” she shared during a press event.

The festival will run from noon to 6 p.m. and will feature an even wider selection of food vendors. Get ready for a delicious mix of dishes, like jerk chicken, cornbread, lobster rolls, and gourmet brownies.

– Lady G’s Empanadas

The entertainment lineup promises to be exciting, too. DJ Storm, DJ SussOne, and DJ Smoove will spin tracks on the main stage. Live performances will feature artists like BlaqRose and Showtyme & Da Traffic.

In a VIP culinary demo, Chefs Carlos and Juwan Rice will showcase their skills. Musical acts will complement this experience, making it a feast for the senses.

Local influencers and community leaders will also join the fun, including NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. He has praised the festival for its role in highlighting local culture and bringing the community together.
