Oklahoma ranks as one of only two programs to consistently score over 320.000 this season, alongside Stanford. They recently posted the nation’s highest team scores: 331.300 against Nebraska and 328.650 in a dual meet against Ohio State and Air Force. In fact, their top score is 4.850 points higher than Stanford’s best this season.
Freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk grabbed the CGA national Rookie of the Week title for the second time this season following his standout performance against Nebraska. He scored 14.450 on vault, matching his career high. Fifth-year senior Brigham Frentheway was recognized as MPSF Gymnast of the Week after hitting season highs in all four of his events. Additionally, Nathan Roman was awarded Specialist of the Week for his career-high score on parallel bars, which is the highest in the nation for this season.
Mark Williams, the head coach for 27 years, has led OU to 9 national championships. His experience and leadership are vital to maintaining Oklahoma’s status as a national contender.
Looking at the national rankings, Oklahoma holds the No. 1 spot, averaging 325.150 points. They’ve excelled particularly on the pommel horse, vault, and high bar, ranking first in all three. Individual performances shine as well, with several Sooners listed among the top gymnasts nationally in various events.
In their last meet, Oklahoma achieved a team score of 331.300, the highest in the nation this season, while claiming all six individual event titles. Freshman Nathan Roman’s parallel bars score of 14.650 stands out as the best in the country.
Oklahoma holds a strong historical legacy, boasting 12 national championships—the most in NCAA history (tied with Penn State).
