THOMAS BACK ON THE FIELD
Great news for the Giants! Left tackle Andrew Thomas is back at practice after passing his physical. He’d been on the physically unable to perform list since training camp started. Coach Brian Daboll said they’ll ease him back in, but they’re hopeful he’ll play in the season opener against Washington. “We’re taking it slow,” Daboll noted. “The trainers did a great job, and AT is progressing well.”
Thomas has been out since injuring his foot in Week 6 last season. He expressed excitement about finally practicing again: “It feels great to be back out there. It’s been 310 days, so I’m grateful for this chance.”
MORE PLAYERS RETURNING
Thomas wasn’t alone on the field. Malik Nabers, a standout wide receiver, and running back Cam Skattebo also returned. Skattebo’s smooth participation in drills showed he’s in game shape. Other players like linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and tight ends Daniel Bellinger and Chris Manhertz were back too. “It’s a short turnaround with a game on Thursday, but we need to make good use of these practice days,” Daboll added.
DART’S FINAL PRESEASON TEST
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is impressing everyone. He completed 26 out of 35 passes for 291 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for another touchdown. Assistant General Manager Brandon Brown emphasizes the importance of coaching, saying, “We laid out a clear path for Jaxson. He’s playing to his strengths, manipulating his arm positions, and improving every day.” The challenge of the offense isn’t easy, but Dart is adapting well. “The game is slowing down for him,” Brown said. Expect to see Dart get more reps in the preseason finale.
According to a recent survey, 65% of fans are excited about the team’s chances this season, especially with key players returning. The buzz on social media shows electric anticipation, with hashtags like #GiantPride trending ahead of the opener.
As we approach the season opener, it’s crucial for players to stay healthy and build momentum. The return of key players like Thomas could be the difference-maker for the Giants this year.
