Drexel Golf Team Update from CAA Championships
Drexel University’s golf team wrapped up day two of the CAA Championships on a strong note. They finished the round at 6-over par, putting them in a tie for seventh place on the Cotton Dike course at Dataw Island, which measures 6,787 yards and is a par 72.
Caleb Taylor played exceptionally well, finishing with an even-par 72. He made three birdies, maintaining his overall score at 2-under par (144), landing him in 12th place. Meanwhile, Keven Lydon started off with an impressive 4-under par on the front nine, but a bogey on 17 and a triple-bogey on 18 brought him back to even-par. He currently stands at 21st with a score of 144.
The team currently shares the 10-over par score with William & Mary. Leading the tournament for the second consecutive day is UNCW at an impressive 18-under par.
This tournament is crucial, not just for team rankings but for individual achievements and potential scholarships. Recent statistics show that nearly 25% of collegiate golfers will go on to play professionally, highlighting the importance of strong performances in championship settings.
