Duplessis Kergomard’s Stunning Victory in Veysonnaz Shakes Up World Cup Standings!

Duplessis Kergomard reflected on his recent podium finish after a tough race. “It was like a war out there,” he said. “I’m really happy to be on the podium again. It was a hard day, and I was exhausted. Before the final, my mind was all over the place. Now, I just want to enjoy this win and relax. I’m always up for a celebration!”

Defending champion Mobaerg also had a good day, moving closer to the top. “I felt great throughout the race,” he shared. “I fixed my start from yesterday, which helped me reach the Big Final. Youri was just faster than me today, but being back on the podium feels amazing. I want to dedicate this second place to my little daughter; she’s my inspiration.”

Schmidt was thrilled to make the top three for the first time since December. “I’ve missed the podium, so this means a lot,” he said with relief. “I came in with a positive mindset, and my body felt good. I even took a week off to surf in Morocco!”

He continued, “You have to take it one race at a time, trust the process, and remember to breathe. I knew I was up against some big names in the Big Final, so I had to bring my A-game. I started well, got into third place, and held my ground.”

“Confidence is key. I know that from last year when I won three times in a row. I’m really excited about the upcoming races in Italy.”

Deromedis didn’t let missing the Big Final get him down. He clinched victory in the Small Final, earning valuable World Cup points. Now, he leads the standings by 15 points over Wilmsmann, with Duplessis Kergomard just 30 points behind as the season nears its halfway mark.

In women’s Ski Cross, Marielle Thompson had an impressive weekend, winning her second race. This victory marks her third double in her World Cup career, making the competition for the Crystal Globe even more exciting.
