The Philadelphia Eagles announced a fresh start in their coaching lineup. Head Coach Nick Sirianni shared in a statement that he would be changing the offensive coordinator position.
“I’ve decided to make a change at offensive coordinator,” Sirianni stated. He praised Kevin Patullo, who has been with the team since 2021, saying he has great respect for him. Patullo played a key role in the team’s success and was recognized as a strong leader for both players and the organization. Sirianni expressed confidence that Patullo would continue to thrive in his coaching career.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Sirianni also noted that the responsibility for unmet goals ultimately falls on him.
Patullo joined the Eagles with Sirianni’s initial staff in 2021, beginning as the passing game coordinator. In 2023, he took on the title of associate head coach. After the Eagles’ Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the 2024 season, he became offensive coordinator.
In the 2025 season, Patullo’s leadership paid off. The Eagles boasted the best red zone offense in the team’s history, achieving a touchdown success rate of 70.5%. Only three other teams since 2021 matched this success. Additionally, the Eagles accomplished a remarkable feat by having two 1,000-yard receivers—A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith—and tight end Dallas Goedert, with more than ten touchdown receptions in a single season. This rare combination has occurred only five times in NFL history.
On the turnover front, the Eagles tied for the fourth-fewest turnovers in the league, with just 15—a significant achievement, as it was their lowest since 1990.
Notably, running back Saquon Barkley made history by rushing for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, a feat not achieved by an Eagle since LeSean McCoy in 2013-2014. Brown and Smith have also made history as the only receiver duo in franchise history to both exceed 1,000 yards in the same season three times.
Despite these accolades, the team finished 24th in overall offense and ranked 19th in points scored.
Given the recent shift in coaching, fans and analysts are eager to see how the team will adapt moving forward and what strategies will emerge in the coming season.
