Loma Linda University Medical Center and its East Campus have achieved “A” grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group for Fall 2025. This marks the 14th and 15th consecutive “A” ratings for these hospitals. Loma Linda University Medical Center–Murrieta also received its fourth straight “A” rating.
The Leapfrog Group updates its safety grades twice a year, showcasing a commitment to patient safety. Dr. Anthony Hilliard, CEO of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals, highlights that these grades illustrate not just data but stories of teamwork and compassion.
Leapfrog evaluates hospitals nationwide with a focus on preventing errors and harm. Their grading system—ranging from “A” to “F”—is based on solid evidence, assessing factors like medical errors, accidents, and infections. This makes Leapfrog’s ratings unique as they concentrate solely on hospital safety.
These achievements are vital, especially during a time when healthcare safety is under intense scrutiny. In a recent survey, about 64% of Americans expressed concerns about the safety of their local hospitals. This highlights the importance of organizations like Leapfrog, which strive to improve hospital standards and transparency.
