Ed Sheeran Reveals He Had Permission to Busk After Police Intervene: Here’s What Happened!

Ed Sheeran recently made headlines after a street performance in India was interrupted by the police. The singer, known for his laid-back style, was busking on Church Street in Bengaluru when an officer stopped him and unplugged his microphone.

In response, Ed took to Instagram to clarify the situation. He stated, “We had permission to busk, by the way. We planned this exact spot. It wasn’t random. All good, though. See you at the show tonight!”

Sheeran was in Bengaluru as part of his tour, performing two concerts over the weekend. After his gigs in the city, he headed to Shillong and Gurugram for more shows.

A 22-year-old software engineer, Sahil Kaling, witnessed the incident and shared his disappointment about the interruption. He saw Ed begin to play his hit song “Shape of You” before the police stepped in. “They should have let him finish at least one song,” he remarked.

Sahil and a friend had jokingly talked about spotting Sheeran earlier that day. They were thrilled when they actually encountered him. “It was surreal to see him perform so close,” he said.

Ed Sheeran started out busking on the streets and has experience performing in various cities worldwide. He’s played in the London Underground and even surprised fans in his hometown of Ipswich. His recent concerts in India were a mix of cultures, highlighted by a duet with Indian singer Shilpa Rao in a local language.
