Woburn, MA – Ellie Mental Health, a national provider of therapy, is expanding quickly in the greater Boston area. This month, they opened their newest location at 800 West Cummings Park in Woburn, marking their third lease with Cummings Properties in just a year.
Founded in Minnesota by Erin Pash and Kyle Keller, Ellie uses a unique approach to therapy that emphasizes comfort and humor. Their goal is to eliminate the stigma around mental healthcare. Since starting in 2015, they have more than 250 locations across the United States.
The first Massachusetts location opened in Medford in 2024. The next site is set to open in Beverly this November, making it the 13th Ellie location in the state and part of the Cummings Center’s growing healthcare community.
Cummings Properties, which manages a significant amount of commercial space, has been instrumental in supporting Ellie’s expansion. Mike Truesdale, their senior leasing director, noted that their north-of-Boston portfolio is designed to support businesses, especially those in healthcare.
Ellie’s new Woburn facility is strategically located next to various healthcare providers, including Beth Israel Lahey and New England Women’s Healthcare. This placement allows for a collaborative environment that benefits patients.
Cummings Properties is more than just a landlord; they contribute to the local community. In 2025, they have pledged $30 million in grants to support various nonprofits in the region, totaling $600 million since their inception.
Ellie Mental Health aims to change the narrative around mental health treatment. Their therapists incorporate diverse specialties and values such as compassion, creativity, and humor. This approach not only makes therapy feel more welcoming, but it also opens the door for more people to seek help.
As mental health becomes a pivotal topic in today’s society, organizations like Ellie play a crucial role. A recent survey found that one in four Americans have sought mental health services in the past year, highlighting the growing need for accessible and supportive care.
In an era where conversations about mental health are becoming more open, Ellie’s innovative model stands out. It’s an important step forward in making wellness accessible to everyone.
