In a casual black T-shirt that read “Tech Support,” Musk quipped that he plays the role of the “White House’s tech support,” reflecting his influence on governance as he leads the Department of Government Efficiency.
“If we don’t remove the roots of the weed, it’s easy for the weed to grow back,” he said, highlighting the need for radical reform. His position gives weight to his statements, especially as he now controls key aspects of the government and has sidelined many career officials.
During his talk, Musk expressed a more isolationist view regarding American actions in the Middle East. Musk also criticized the Trump administration’s stance on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. In addition to his comments on government and AI, Musk announced a new project called the “Dubai Loop.” This aligns with his work at the Boring Company, which is currently tunneling in Las Vegas to improve transit systems. While details about the Dubai project remain sparse, Musk promised an innovative underground transit system, describing it as “like a wormhole” for quick travel across the city.
