Mumbai is buzzing with excitement as the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) unveils a unique spiritual journey called the “Jain Yatra.” Set to depart from Bandra Terminus on March 31, 2025, this 8-night, 9-day tour will take travelers to major Jain pilgrimage sites.

The initiative is a part of the Indian government’s efforts to encourage domestic tourism through programs like “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.” These campaigns highlight the importance of exploring India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual destinations.

On the itinerary are several significant Jain sites, including Pavapuri, Kundalpur, Guniyaji, Lacchuar, Rajgir, Parasnath, Rujuwalika, and Sammed Shikharji. Passengers will have the flexibility to board or alight at various points along the route, including Bandra Terminus, Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bhusawal, Itarasi, Jabalpur, and Satna.

The Bharat Gaurav AC Tourist Train promises a comfortable experience for up to 750 passengers in 3AC class. It comes equipped with modern amenities, including an onboard kitchen that will serve Jain meals, ensuring that dietary preferences are respected. For passenger safety, the train will have CCTV surveillance and dedicated security personnel in each coach.

A recent survey revealed that spiritual tourism in India is on the rise, with many seeking meaningful experiences. The Jain Yatra aligns perfectly with this trend, tapping into the spiritual quest of many travelers today.
