One of the main reasons people feel unhappy is their struggle to let go. We often cling to people, events, and circumstances, especially when we can’t change them. This struggle comes from the illusion that we have control over our lives.

AiR – Atman in Ravi, a Happiness Ambassador, Author, and Spiritual Mentor, shares insights on how to embrace the art of letting go and finding joy through surrender.
While we have the freedom to make choices, our lives are also influenced by Karma—the results of our past actions. This Karma shapes our present circumstances and can lead to situations that feel out of our control. Every action we take has consequences, and until we address our karmic debts, challenges will keep appearing. However, making positive choices now can improve our future and create a happier life. Ultimately, the goal is more profound—it’s about achieving Moksha, or liberation from the cycle of life and death.
To reach this state of liberation, we must learn to let go. This does not mean we stop trying; it means we stop being attached to specific outcomes. The Divine Will guides the universe, and understanding that all experiences—good or bad—come from Karma helps us accept reality. When faced with pain, like losing a loved one, acceptance is vital.
This is where the “ABCD Mantra” comes in: Accept, do your Best, and in Consciousness, surrender the rest. Living by this mantra helps us align with Divine Will instead of resisting it.
In everyday life, we encounter many chances to release what no longer serves us. Holding onto past hurts, regrets, or toxic feelings only prolongs our suffering. True healing comes from letting go. Clinging to the past leads to pain, and worrying about the future creates anxiety. It’s crucial to release these fears and material desires.
Embracing positive emotions is also essential. FAITH (Full Assurance In The Heart), HOPE (Having Only Positive Expectations), and TRUST (Total Reliance, Unconditional Surrender to the Almighty) can help cultivate inner happiness. Trusting in the divine order makes letting go easier.
Ultimately, spiritual insight leads to the deepest form of surrender. When we realize we are more than just our bodies or minds—we are a unique part of the Divine—we begin to move beyond the illusion of separation. This shift unlocks a sense of oneness, revealing that life is a cosmic play where each of us plays a role, all manifestations of a greater power.
In a world filled with distractions and stress, the practice of letting go can offer a path to a more peaceful existence. By learning to release our burdens and accept life’s ebb and flow, we open ourselves to a deeper understanding of joy and fulfillment.
