(Rising Sun, Ind.) – The Ohio County Community Foundation has awarded a $49,500 technology grant to the Education Center of Rising Sun, facilitated by MHS Serves.
This funding is part of an effort to close the digital gap in the community. The grant has equipped the Education Center with new computers, screens, and a smart board for improving presentations and teaching.
Additionally, the Center has acquired software from Teknimedia that includes 17 courses in basic computer skills, keyboarding, internet navigation, email usage, and Microsoft Office. These courses cater to all age groups and are designed for both online and in-person learning.
Debbie Thomason, the Director, expressed her enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to offer these courses to seniors, job seekers, and anyone wanting to update their skills. This is a wonderful opportunity for our small rural community.”
If you want to learn new computer skills or enhance your existing knowledge, stop by the Education Center at 591 Smart Drive, Rising Sun, Indiana, or call 812-438-2437. Every participant who completes a course will earn a certificate of achievement.
