Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, recently spoke about India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation through the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative. He emphasized that self-reliance is key to India’s strength, a sentiment echoed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the slogan of swadeshi.
During the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp workshop in Panchkula, Saini highlighted the importance of spreading this campaign to every household from September 25 to December 25. He wants the community to unite and embrace PM Modi’s vision for a prosperous India by 2047. Saini believes it’s time to break away from economic dependence and foster empowerment and job creation for every citizen.
He fondly recalled the dream of Swaraj from freedom fighters and expressed his commitment to transforming it into “Suraaj,” or good governance. According to Saini, initiatives like “Make in India,” “Digital India,” and “Skill India” are crucial for national growth. He stated that all sectors must collaborate for the country to achieve true development.
Saini introduced the “Atmanirbhar Haryana” portal, designed to help individuals and entrepreneurs access resources and start businesses. He underscored the significance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in driving economic growth and job opportunities. In fact, MSMEs have been pivotal in establishing over 766,000 businesses in Haryana, providing nearly 3.9 million jobs.
Haryana’s role in the national economy cannot be underestimated. The state contributes 3.6% to India’s GDP and has received recognition for its progress in the MSME sector with awards like the National MSME Award. The state aims to foster self-reliant industrial infrastructures and has removed over 1,100 redundant rules to ease business operations.
In a bid to attract more investment, Haryana has launched the “State Startup Policy-2022,” identifying itself as a potential startup hub in India with ambitions of housing numerous unicorns and Fortune 500 companies.
BJP state in-charge Dr. Satish Poonia urged party workers to spread the message of self-reliance, reinforcing that the campaign aims to promote indigenous products and make Haryana the leader in self-reliance.
The rise of user-generated content on platforms like Instagram and Twitter has sparked discussions around local businesses and self-reliance. Using hashtags like #MakeInIndia and #Atmanirbhar, many are sharing their support for the movement, showcasing local products and success stories of entrepreneurs.
The Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign represents a significant shift in India’s approach to self-sufficiency, urging citizens to take charge of their economic futures. Embracing this mentality could not only empower individuals but also strengthen the nation as a whole.
