Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently celebrated Independence Day in Rohtak, urging citizens to embrace the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” mission. He emphasized the importance of “vocal for local” initiatives to help India shine on the global stage.
During the event, Saini paid tribute to freedom fighters and recognized Haryana’s contributions in conflicts like the Kargil War. He highlighted India’s advances in military technology, showcasing the nation’s growth in being self-reliant.
Saini also shared his vision for Haryana’s role in Prime Minister Modi’s aspiration for a developed India by 2047. He stated that Haryana plays a key role in food production and vehicle manufacturing, with the state producing every second car and over half of the country’s tractors.
Reflecting on over ten years of governance, he pointed to significant reforms. Efforts to eradicate corruption and digitize services through the Parivar Pehchan Patra system have been pivotal. Notably, 1.80 lakh jobs were created, 30,000 based solely on merit, with a Common Eligibility Test now in place. Emergency response has improved, with an average response time of just over seven minutes.
In agriculture, all crops are procured at minimum support prices, and ₹1.48 lakh crore has been directly transferred to farmers. Compensation for crop losses reached ₹15,465 crore, alongside new laws supporting farmers.
Addressing social welfare, Saini raised the income limit for the OBC creamy layer to ₹8 lakh and expanded reservation benefits. He also increased social security pensions and highlighted improved healthcare initiatives, benefiting 22 lakh people through schemes like Ayushman Bharat. Free dialysis is now accessible in government hospitals.
Saini reported substantial industrial growth, with 7.66 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprises generating 39 lakh jobs in the past decade. Nearly 5,900 villages now enjoy 24/7 electricity.
Urban development has seen significant investments, with improvements including 21 new national highways and regularization of unauthorized colonies. He expressed confidence that Haryana is on a path to prosperity and inclusivity.
Saini concluded by urging the community to invest in a developed and united Haryana, rooted in cultural pride. This vision resonates as many in Haryana and beyond rally behind local initiatives, showcasing a shift toward self-reliance and development.
