The News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026 wrapped up recently in New Delhi. This event brought together leaders from various sectors to discuss big ideas and strategies for India’s future.
The theme was ‘Strength Within’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about India’s growing global influence and the need for inclusive growth. He emphasized that India is going back to the fundamentals that once made it a powerhouse—strong manufacturing, high-quality production, and solid economic policies.

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal spoke about India’s readiness to boost exports, enhance manufacturing, and play a larger role in global supply chains. He reaffirmed ongoing trade talks with the United States, aiming for agreements that benefit India while protecting national interests.
Former Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo called India’s development “self-sustaining.” He noted that India’s global status has strengthened, especially when it stood firm against external pressures.
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw discussed the importance of technology and infrastructure as key growth drivers. He underscored the need for trust in AI while recalling how Indian firms gained global credibility during the Y2K transition.
Meanwhile, Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia shared India’s ambition to lead in 6G technology. The Bharat 6G Alliance aims to drive research and development, collaborating with over 30 countries.
International voices were also present. Former UK Chief of Defence Staff Nick Carter emphasized that India has the political and economic clout to determine its own path and should have a greater role in global forums like the UN Security Council.
Notable attendees included former US Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez, as well as ambassadors from Norway, Germany, and Sweden. Their participation underlined India’s expanding global presence.
With sessions covering topics like economic reform, AI governance, and sustainability, the News18 Rising Bharat Summit reinforced India’s image as a vibrant democracy and an emerging global player.
