HCLTech, a prominent global technology firm, recently launched the third edition of its Climate Action Grant program in the Americas. This year, the company will allocate $1 million to three non-profits focused on restoring biodiversity and promoting sustainability in ten countries, including the U.S., Canada, and several Central and South American nations.
The Climate Action Grant program started in 2023 with a commitment of $5 million over five years. Its goal is to support impactful, sustainable solutions to tackle the pressing climate crisis. Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President of Global CSR at HCLTech, expressed excitement about the overwhelming response from organizations. “The passion and diverse ideas reinforce our belief that innovation and collaboration are essential for effective climate action,” she noted.
In its first two years, the program awarded $2 million to six non-profits. These initiatives have empowered over 1,400 young people and educators, revitalized 88 acres of longleaf pine forest, and inspired more than 1,000 students to create sustainable communities.
HCLTech’s commitment to sustainability is evidenced by numerous accolades. The company earned a ‘Gold’ rating from EcoVadis for its sustainability efforts and has been featured in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for three consecutive years. Furthermore, its buildings received a 98% ‘Platinum’ rating from the Green Building Councils.
The application window for this year’s grants is open from today, which coincides with the International Day of Climate Action, until January 24, 2026. Winners will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026.
Recent statistics show that climate action initiatives can significantly impact local communities. A survey found that 70% of young people want to engage in environmental efforts but often lack the resources. Programs like HCLTech’s help fill this gap, providing vital support for innovative ideas that can lead to real change.
By backing grassroots organizations, HCLTech plays a crucial role in combatting climate change. The collaboration between businesses and local groups is key to driving meaningful solutions for a sustainable future.
