New Delhi: Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to travel to the International Space Station, recently encouraged young people to help achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
At the launch of the Delhi government’s AI Grind Challenge, Shukla shared stories from his time in space and emphasized how crucial Artificial Intelligence (AI) is for technology in that realm. “You are the future,” he said. “It’s up to you to work towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
Earlier this year, Shukla made history as part of the Axiom-4 mission, returning to India on August 17 after an 18-day journey to the International Space Station.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the importance of the AI Grind as India’s first city-focused AI innovation engine. The six-month initiative aims to unite local schools, communities, and industries to tackle real-world issues collaboratively.
This program is positioned as a crucial step in establishing Delhi as a hub for AI innovation. Gupta tweeted, “AI Grind will empower Delhi’s youth to create AI solutions for pressing problems. Classrooms will become innovation labs, students will be change-makers, and our capital will lead in knowledge and AI development.”
