Recently, an Android user discovered a new “Share screen with Live” button within the Gemini Live interface. This button appears alongside existing features, allowing users to share their entire screens. Currently, sharing only a single app isn’t an option. Alongside this, the app has introduced real-time camera capabilities. Users can start a video stream and easily switch to their front-facing camera.
Google is gradually releasing these features, so it might not be available on all devices just yet. Reports indicate that a Xiaomi phone user was among the first to access these new capabilities, while Google mentioned that Project Astra will be available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, starting at $19.99 a month.
Experts believe this rollout is a strategic move for Google as it places a bigger focus on interactive AI technologies. According to a recent survey by Market Research, about 60% of users prefer apps with enhanced interactive features. This shows there’s a significant demand for real-time communication tools.
