SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Chief Joseph Cecile of the Syracuse Police Department is talking directly to the community. He’s answering questions to build trust and keep everyone informed.
This week, he shares insights on snow removal and cool new tech the department is using.
Snow Removal Insights:
The Syracuse Police and the Department of Public Works are on the lookout for cars parked illegally during snow removal. If your car is on the wrong side of the street or blocking a snow plow, it could be towed. Chief Cecile stressed the importance of clear roads in winter. “In winter, roads get narrower, and blocked paths can cause big issues,” he explained. Usually, DPW will call for a tow if they can’t clear the snow properly. Blocked roads can also delay emergency services.
