Enord Pvt. Ltd., a groundbreaking startup specializing in AI-powered drone technology, has made headlines by winning a significant contract with the Indian Army’s School of Artillery in Deolali, Nashik. The company will provide over 700 standalone VR drone training simulators, marking a significant step in India’s movement toward self-reliance in defense technology.

These simulators are set to enhance drone operator training across 19 army units nationwide. The project will roll out in three phases, with completion expected by mid-2026. This initiative allows for immersive training experiences without the need for live drones, reducing risks and costs associated with traditional training methods.

The simulators offer features like First-Person View (FPV) flying, mission rehearsals, and emergency drills—equipping operators to handle a variety of tactical scenarios. This shift not only increases pilot readiness but also minimizes wear and tear on actual equipment, making military training more efficient.

The contract comes after a thorough evaluation process that included rigorous field trials and compliance checks, emphasizing the army’s commitment to secure, locally-sourced technology. Muhammad Anas, Co-Founder and CEO of Enord, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the confidence in Indian innovation. He stated that this project reflects the capabilities of Indian-built systems to meet and exceed military expectations.

Founded in early 2021, Enord emerged from top incubators associated with prestigious Indian institutes like IITs and IIMs. The company aims to move beyond traditional GPS navigation, employing an AI Pilot architecture that allows real-time decision-making in challenging environments.
