New Delhi: Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav recently responded to Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh’s claims about the Aravalli hills. Ramesh argued that over 90% of the hills are now “unprotected” due to the government’s new definition. He cited data from the Forest Survey of India (FSI), which stated that only 8.7% of the hills reach heights of over 100 meters.
