The Boys is heading into its final season, and it’s sure to tug at our heartstrings. After an intense fourth season filled with drama and biting satire, we now face the reality of saying goodbye to our beloved characters. What started as a comedic take on superheroes has evolved into a sharp commentary on today’s society.
In a recent chat with Forbes, showrunner Eric Kripke shared insights about how current events will shape the fifth season, which is currently being filmed. He mentioned that while half of the scripts are complete, they are always open to adjustments.
“Things adjust all the time. We’re used to changing things as the world changes,” Kripke noted. “We often rewrite right up to the day before shooting, and sometimes even during filming.”
Although the scripts are evolving, the fundamental story arcs for The Seven and The Boys are already set. Kripke explained, “We know where each character needs to go, especially in the final season. The challenge now is figuring out how to get there.” He emphasized that while the storyline remains stable, the dialogue and social commentary may shift to reflect current events.
As we await Season 5, fans can catch up on the first four seasons streaming now on Prime Video. The journey has been wild, and it’s hard to believe we’re approaching the end. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking series.
