During eruptions, Kanahele-Mossman shares offerings at the crater, connecting the past with the present. “To witness an eruption described in our songs is truly inspiring,” she reflects.

Interest in the park has surged due to Kilauea’s activity, with April 2025 seeing a 49% increase in visitors compared to the same month in 2024. However, potential visitors should approach with caution. Unstable areas can lead to injuries, and volcanic gas can be hazardous.
