Essential Guide to Natrona County Health and Food Inspections (February 17-23, 2025): What You Need to Know

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper-Natrona County Health Department keeps a close eye on local food establishments. They inspect restaurants, grocery stores, mobile food units, and other food-related operations at least twice a year without prior notice.

There are three types of health violations identified during these inspections: priority, priority foundation, and core. The department’s goal is to educate businesses about safe food practices and help them make necessary improvements.

According to the program manager for Environmental Health, inspections don’t work on a pass or fail basis. Instead, violations must be addressed immediately or within ten days. This approach ensures that a violation alone doesn’t mean a business is unsafe.

If a business needs a follow-up inspection, it usually means the violation was serious or required more time to fix. Most businesses manage to resolve any issues within the allotted time.

The health department also provides summary notes for serious violations, while full inspection reports can be found on their website.
