GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Agriculture’s Consumer Health Services Division checks food establishments in areas without local health departments. These inspections help keep Wyoming residents safe.
In Campbell County, each establishment is inspected at least once a year. You can find inspection reports on the WDA’s website; these reports cover routine inspections only, not follow-ups or other types.
During inspections, establishments can either comply or not comply with health standards. The violations are classified as non-critical (not directly related to food safety) or critical (which can lead to foodborne illnesses).
The WDA focuses on education. The goal is to help businesses recognize unsafe practices and correct them. Any violation may put a business out of compliance, but not all violations pose an immediate threat to safety.
Inspections capture a moment in time. Many issues are often resolved before the inspector leaves. Depending on how serious a violation is, businesses usually have 10 to 45 days to fix problems.
Serious violations or important notes are summarized in the reports. If you want to see full details, you can find them on the WDA website.
