Essential Natrona County Health & Food Inspection Updates: January 13-19, 2025

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper-Natrona County Health Department keeps a close eye on local food establishments. They inspect restaurants, grocery stores, and food vendors at least twice a year. These inspections are unannounced, which helps ensure a fair assessment of food safety practices.

There are three categories of violations the department looks for: priority, priority foundation, and core. The goal isn’t just to point out problems but to help businesses improve. If health inspectors find issues, the focus is on education and correction.

According to the program manager for Environmental Health in Natrona County, there’s no grading system for these inspections. A restaurant doesn’t fail; instead, any violations must be corrected immediately or within 10 days. Most establishments can easily fix these problems in time.

If a business needs a reinspection, it’s often because the issues are more serious or require additional time to resolve. But businesses typically manage to meet the health department’s requirements.

You can check out detailed reports for each restaurant on the health department’s website. They publish all inspection results, allowing the public to stay informed.
