Eugenio Suárez Makes History as 19th MLB Player to Smash 4 Home Runs in a Single Game!

Eugenio Suárez made history on Saturday night by hitting four home runs in a single game, becoming only the 19th player in Major League Baseball (MLB) history to achieve this incredible feat. Unfortunately, the Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the Atlanta Braves in extra innings, ending the game 8-7.

Suárez, 33, was on fire at the plate. His home runs came at crucial moments: solo shots in the second, sixth, and ninth innings, and a two-run homer in the fourth. Remarkably, he is the first player to hit four homers in a game for the Diamondbacks since J.D. Martinez did it in 2017. This achievement is celebrated as one of the rarest in baseball, even less common than a perfect game, which has happened only 24 times.

After his spectacular performance, Suárez joined legendary players like Willie Mays, Lou Gehrig, and Mike Schmidt in the exclusive four-homer club. In a memorable gesture, he traded a signed hat, jersey, and ball to get back the ball from his historic fourth homer.

Suárez expressed his excitement post-game, stating, “I never thought in my life that I’d be able to hit four home runs in a game. To be honest, it feels great.” Yet he acknowledged the mixed feelings, saying, “Obviously there’s mixed feelings right now because we didn’t win the game. But this is baseball; that’s why this game is so special.”

His final home run tied the score at 7-7 in the ninth inning, but the Braves pulled ahead with a run in the 10th inning, dashing the Diamondbacks’ hopes for a win.

Despite this dazzling performance, Suárez had been struggling at the plate before the game, with a batting average of .167 and just six home runs for the season. He has now hit 286 home runs over his 12-year career and had previously recorded two three-homer games.

D-backs manager Torey Lovullo shared his pride, saying he had spoken with Suárez recently, assuring him that better days were ahead. “When I’m watching him have success, I’m like a proud father,” he added.
