European leaders are rallying to support Ukraine after President Trump’s sharp criticism of President Volodymyr Zelensky during a recent White House meeting. Leaders from France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Denmark, and many others have publicly backed Ukraine’s president, praising his courage during tough times.
While Trump hinted at pulling U.S. support for Ukraine unless they agree to a cease-fire with Russia, European leaders expressed their commitment to Ukraine. Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission president, directly encouraged Zelensky on social media, saying, “Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone, dear President.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, previously seen as friendly with Trump, reiterated the importance of supporting Ukraine. He stated that the U.S. and Europe were right to assist Ukraine and impose sanctions on Russia following the invasion. He emphasized that Ukrainians are “fighting for their dignity, their independence, their children, and the security of Europe.”
This wave of support from leaders around the globe highlights a united front for Ukraine amidst ongoing challenges. The resilience of the Ukrainian people and their leadership continues to draw admiration and support from various nations.
