India is gearing up for festive celebrations with the arrival of summer festivities like Navratri and Chhath Puja. These festivals hold a special place in the hearts of many, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
This year, Indian Railways is making travel easier for those journeying from Delhi to Patna by reintroducing the New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express as a special festival train. Starting this Saturday, the train will enhance connectivity and ensure that revelers can celebrate with family and friends without hassle.
The Vande Bharat Express will operate daily from March 29 to March 31. It leaves New Delhi at 8:30 AM and arrives in Patna at 8:10 PM. For those returning to the capital, the return service will be available from March 30 to April 1, leaving Patna at the same time and reaching New Delhi at 8:10 PM. The train will stop at key stations, including Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, making it convenient for travelers along the route.
In addition to the Vande Bharat train, several other special trains will run during the festive period. Here’s a quick look at them:
- Daily services from New Delhi to Patna, Saharsa, and Katihar
- Unreserved special trains connecting Delhi to Bhagalpur and the surrounding areas
With the resurgence of these special services, the Indian Railways aims to accommodate the increasing number of passengers during this busy festive season. This decision comes at a time when travel restrictions are easing, and many are eager to immerse themselves in cultural traditions after a subdued celebration in previous years.
Travel expert Ramesh Kumar noted that, "Festivals are not just about celebration; they are about family and community bonding. The ease of travel helps people reconnect with their roots."
As families prepare for the festive spirit, it’s an excellent opportunity to reflect on the importance of these traditions, which date back centuries. Celebrating these festivals strengthens cultural ties and fosters a sense of belonging among communities.
For those planning their travel, it’s recommended to secure tickets early due to high demand. Remember, festive train journeys are not just about reaching a destination; they’re also part of the celebration itself.
The Indian Railways has established a significant role in facilitating these traditional celebrations, helping maintain a sense of togetherness during festive times.
