After going through an arrest warrant over an alleged provident fund (PF) fraud, former India participant Robin Uthappa has damaged his silence into the matter. An arrest warrant has been issued in opposition to the ex-India star for the alleged fraud in reference to the PF contributions of workers at a clothes firm run by him. He has time until December 27 to pay the dues of practically Rs 24 lakh, or face arrest. While clearing the air on the matter, Uthappa stated that his authorized advisors will take the required steps to resolve the problem.

“In 2018-19, I used to be appointed as a director in these corporations because of my monetary contributions to them within the type of loans. However, I didn’t have an lively govt function, nor was I concerned within the day-to-day Given my demanding schedule as an expert cricketer, and commentator, neither did I’ve the time nor experience to take part of their operations. in every other corporations I’ve funded, until date.
“Regrettably, these companies failed to repay the funds I lent them, leading me to initiate legal proceedings, which are currently sub judice. I also resigned from my directorships several years ago.
“When the Provident Fund authorities issued notices demanding cost of dues, my authorized staff responded, highlighting that I had no function in these corporations and offered documentation from the businesses themselves confirming my lack of involvement. Despite this, the Provident Fund authorities have continued with proceedings, and my authorized advisors will take the required steps to resolve this matter within the coming days.

Mr Uthappa is the director of Bengaluru-based Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd. The firm did not remit the damages of about Rs 23,36,602, which is to be recovered from the previous Team India participant, stated Regional PF Commissioner Sadakshari Gopal Reddy within the arrest warrant issued on December 4.
The 39-year-old former batsman is accused of deducting provident funds from the wage of his workers however not depositing the funds into the accounts of his workers.
Due to non-remittances of dues, this workplace is unable to settle the Provident Fund Accounts of the poor employees, the letter stated, asking the police to arrest Mr Uthappa and return the warrant on or earlier than December 27.
