Georgia Tech baseball has exciting news! They’ve been selected as an official host for the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament. This marks the Yellow Jackets’ 37th appearance in the tournament and the 13th time they’ll host it at Mac Nease Baseball Park, with their last hosting in 2019.
This season has been remarkable. With a record of 48 wins and just 9 losses, the Yellow Jackets secured their second consecutive ACC regular season championship and also clinched the ACC Tournament title. They’ve set new records in offensive performance, wins, and fan attendance. In fact, Mac Nease Baseball Park saw a record 98,297 fans this season, a 90% jump from last year.
The fans played a huge role in creating a fantastic atmosphere. For the first time, every home game attracted over 2,000 spectators, and there were 15 games with at least 3,000 attendees. Their average home attendance was 2,891, which is not just the highest in Georgia but ranks well nationally as well.
Improvements at the stadium, like added seating and better concessions, have enhanced the game day experience, making it even more appealing for fans. The Yellow Jackets capitalized on this support, winning nine sell-out games this season by a dominating score of 100-34.
Not only have they excelled in attendance, but on the field, they’ve achieved the best regular-season record in 106 years. Their performance against top-ranked teams has been historic as well, with a winning percentage of .833 against ranked opponents.
Head coach James Ramsey stood out, being named ACC Coach of the Year in his first year, a notable accomplishment. The team is now eagerly awaiting the NCAA Selection Show on May 25 to learn their seeding and who they’ll face in the tournament.
This has been a season for the books for Georgia Tech baseball, but it’s just the beginning. The school is also working on the “Full Steam Ahead” initiative, a $500 million campaign to elevate its athletics further. This includes renovations to major sports facilities, which will enhance the experiences for both players and fans.
