Exciting Addition: Transfer Forward Anthony Robinson Joins Pepperdine Men’s Basketball Team!

Pepperdine Welcomes Anthony Robinson to its Basketball Team

Pepperdine men’s basketball is gearing up for an exciting season with the addition of redshirt junior forward Anthony Robinson. Hailing from Atlanta, he joins the Waves after playing at Xavier University.

Head coach Griff Aldrich expressed his enthusiasm: “I am thrilled to have Anthony on board. He’s not just a talented player; he’s a great person who will represent our university and community well. His athleticism and physical style will be a big boost for us in the WCC.”

Last season, Robinson played in 26 games for Xavier, averaging about 10 minutes of playtime. He recorded 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, showing glimpses of potential, especially with his offensive rebounding.

His previous seasons at the University of Virginia also showcased his growth. In his redshirt freshman year, he boasted an impressive .721 shooting percentage, averaging 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in just under 10 minutes each game. His efforts earned him a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team, underscoring his dedication both on and off the court.

Robinson’s high school career was notable as well. He played his first two years at Starr’s Mill High School in Georgia before finishing at Christ School in North Carolina, where he led his team to a state championship and averaged a double-double.

Pepperdine’s Basketball Legacy

Pepperdine has a rich basketball history, with 13 NCAA tournament appearances and multiple championships in the West Coast Conference (WCC). The Waves recently took home the CBI Tournament title in 2021, further solidifying their legacy. The program is known not just for its wins but also for producing numerous All-Americans and NBA players over the years.

As the Waves prepare for the upcoming season, fans can look forward to Robinson’s contributions on the court and the exciting moments ahead.
