Exciting Harbor Regional Health Bargaining Update: What UFCW 3000 Members Need to Know!

Our bargaining team has been meeting with management, but we haven’t seen any response to our economic proposals. In fact, management has put forward some concerning changes:

  • They want to limit 8-hour workers from picking up 12-hour shifts and only allow 4 hours to be paid at overtime.
  • They propose that once sick time is exhausted, we cannot use PTO.
  • They require a doctor’s note to access bereavement pay after a miscarriage.

Concerns About Management’s Proposals

Why would anyone want to work a longer shift if overtime isn’t guaranteed? When we transitioned from “Vacation” to “PTO” a few years back, the understanding was that PTO could be used flexibly. Now, management is suggesting that if sick time runs out, we won’t have access to our PTO even when it’s available.

This raises serious questions about respect for our hard work. It’s important for all of us to stand together and communicate our needs. Let’s gather at the Contract Action Meeting after bargaining on Monday to discuss how we can advocate for a fair contract!
