In a key matchup, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors clinched the top seed in the 3A District 1 tournament by defeating the Monroe Bearcats 57-40. This game took place on Monday night at Monroe High School.

Leading the Warriors was senior Cam Hiatt, who scored 19 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. His impressive performance solidified his team’s win and showcased his skills just ahead of the district tournament.

With this victory, the Warriors earned a first-round bye and are set to play at home on Saturday, February 15, at 7 p.m. They will face the winner of the game between Ferndale and Meadowdale, scheduled for Thursday.

This quarterfinal game marks the start of the double elimination format for the tournament. A total of four teams will advance to the state tournament, making every game crucial from here on out.

Meadowdale’s upcoming game is against Ferndale on Thursday, February 13, at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to play Edmonds-Woodway in the quarterfinals.
