Close finishes were the highlight of the night as all 14 teams took the court. Let’s recap the action.
UNCW 70, Hofstra 67 (OT)
UNCW (11-10, 5-3) secured a dramatic overtime victory over Hofstra (9-10, 4-4). Ali Zelaya shone with 22 points and 13 rebounds. In a nail-biting finish, UNCW rallied late in the fourth, capping a 6-0 run to tie the game and force overtime. Tia Dobson sealed the win with two free throws, while Hofstra struggled to find its rhythm but had Zyheima Swift leading with 14 points.
Drexel 53, Northeastern 47
Drexel (10-8, 6-2) held off Northeastern (1-16, 0-8) for a narrow 53-47 win. The teams were close throughout, with Drexel pulling away in the final moments. Amaris Baker led Drexel with 16 points, while Abigail Jegede shone for Northeastern, scoring 19 points.
Charleston 66, Stony Brook 53
Charleston (14-5, 5-3) started strong, dominating Stony Brook (10-10, 5-4) in the first quarter. They built a big lead early and maintained it throughout the game. Taryn Barbot and Jazmyn Stone both contributed 17 points for the Cougars, while Stony Brook’s Breauna Ware led her team with 21 points.
Towson 63, Delaware 48
Towson (5-14, 3-5) came from behind to take down Delaware (4-14, 1-7) thanks to India Johnston’s standout fourth quarter. She score 15 of her 24 points in the final frame, leading Towson to a dominant 21-7 finish. Ande’a Cherisier scored 15 points for Delaware, but the Blue Hens couldn’t catch up.
William & Mary 64, Elon 59
William & Mary (9-10, 6-2) fought back from a five-point deficit to beat Elon (11-8, 5-3). Cassidy Geddes was key, scoring eight of her 25 points in a critical stretch that helped seal the game. Raven Preston excelled on the boards for Elon, grabbing 19 rebounds.
N.C. A&T 74, Hampton 51
N.C. A&T (12-8, 8-1) cruised to victory over Hampton (5-15, 1-8) with Maleia Bracone leading the charge. She finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. The Aggies shot well and stifled Hampton’s efforts, limiting them to just eight points in the fourth quarter.
Campbell 76, Monmouth 67
Campbell (11-9, 4-4) pulled away from Monmouth (10-10, 5-4) in the waning minutes of a tightly contested game. Jasmine Felton and Courtney Dahlquist hit back-to-back three-pointers that allowed Campbell to maintain its lead. Dahlquist led her team with 20 points, while Monmouth’s Damaris Rodriguez scored 21 points, but it wasn’t enough.
