This time of year is fantastic for motorsport enthusiasts. With many racing series kicking off their seasons, it’s exciting to see new cars, technologies, and rules. In the sim racing world, we’re shaking off the winter cobwebs and gearing up for thrilling events like the Daytona 24, Daytona 500, and Bathurst 12.
As the Winter Olympics energize the competition spirit, we’re all excited for what 2026 has to offer on the racing front. Let’s dive into some highlights from recent events and what’s coming up in the iRacing community.

Protest Process Insights:
We have a dedicated team ensuring fair play in our community. In 2025 alone, nearly 300,000 protests were processed! Our team works hard to provide constructive feedback during the process and maintains a professional racing environment.
What’s Coming in Season 2:
Season 2 promises exciting updates, featuring new cars, tracks, and upgraded physics. Let’s look at some of the highlights:
New Tracks:
The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is finally here! This track features tricky transitions and a mix of public roads and purpose-built sections. Whether you’re driving an IndyCar or a NASCAR truck, racing here will be a thrilling experience.
Barber Motorsports Park gets a revamp! With a newly paved surface and improved runoff areas, this updated version will be available to all current owners at no extra cost.
Track Refreshes:
Track updates include art refreshes at Lanier National Speedway, Langley Speedway, and USA International Speedway. These enhancements boost the visual quality, ensuring they look and feel fantastic for virtual racing.
New Cars:
This season introduces several new vehicles. The NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is now available. Additionally, we are excited to add the NASCAR Ram Truck, bringing diversity to the NASCAR grid after 14 years.
On the touring car side, the Audi RS3 LMS Gen2 TCR will also be released, complete with an extensive physics overhaul to match modern racing standards.
Physics and Updates:
Season 2 also brings significant updates for our existing car fleet. Improvements in tire technology, handling, and braking systems enhance realism, creating a more rewarding driving experience.
New Features:
We’ve enhanced our Sim UI, allowing you to create custom profiles for different vehicles and layouts. Live telemetry features will help you analyze your performance better. This is aimed at making racing more engaging and intuitive.
Future Developments:
Looking ahead, we’re working on integrating AI into dirt racing and fine-tuning our physics engine for an even better experience. The Career Mode project is also moving forward, promising an exciting new gameplay feature soon.
