HOUSTON, Oct. 15, 2025 – Axiom Space has just announced a significant leadership change: Dr. Jonathan Cirtain takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer, all while remaining President. This move aims to boost the company’s plans for crucial space infrastructure.
Dr. Kam Ghaffarian, Executive Chairman of Axiom Space, shared, “We are thrilled to have Jonathan as our CEO. His leadership experience and dedication match our goal of creating groundbreaking space infrastructure that will enhance exploration and support the global space economy.” Ghaffarian also acknowledged Tejpaul Bhatia for his contributions during his time as CEO, guiding the company through crucial shifts.
Dr. Cirtain is a respected physicist and technology leader with a rich background in both space and nuclear fields. Before joining Axiom, he had important roles at BWX Technologies and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. He even co-founded a company focused on machine learning for Earth observation and earned a Ph.D. in Physics.
