MILWAUKEE – Peter Feigin, the Milwaukee Bucks President, is stepping down after a remarkable tenure. He’s credited with revitalizing the team, forming a strong bond with Milwaukee, and leading the creation of Fiserv Forum and the Deer District. The new president, Josh Glessing, comes from the Haslam Sports Group, where he served as Chief of Strategy & Development. Glessing will gradually take over Feigin’s roles, ensuring a smooth transition.
Feigin joined the Bucks in 2014 and transformed the franchise both on and off the court. His leadership coincided with the team’s 2021 NBA Championship win and significant growth in business performance. The Bucks have rebranded under his watch, becoming a notable force in global sports and entertainment.
“Being President of the Milwaukee Bucks has been the highlight of my career,” Feigin stated. He emphasized the achievements made possible by collaboration with owners, players, and staff. He expressed pride in what they built together for the city and the state.
Glessing, a Wisconsin native, has long ties with the Bucks, recently facilitating HSG’s investment in the team. Before that, he worked at Goldman Sachs in sports and entertainment banking, which included financing Fiserv Forum. In 2023, he spent time as the interim President of Business for the MLS’ Columbus Crew, contributing significantly to its growth and innovation efforts.
“I’m thankful to HSG and Bucks ownership for this incredible opportunity,” Glessing said. As a lifelong Bucks fan, he feels deeply connected to the team’s legacy. He aims to build on their successes while focusing on winning and enhancing fan experiences.
The Bucks’ majority owners praised Feigin for his vision and dedication over his twelve years. “We are excited about Josh’s leadership,” they said, highlighting both continuity and optimism for the organization’s future.
Interestingly, a recent survey revealed that 85% of Bucks fans feel a strong sense of community with the team, a testament to Feigin’s efforts. With Glessing’s enthusiasm and experience, the franchise appears well-equipped for the next chapter.
In the swiftly changing sports landscape, strong leadership is crucial. Glessing, named to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class of 2024, signifies a promising future not just for the Bucks, but for sports management as a whole. His commitment to both fan engagement and community impact suggests exciting developments ahead for Milwaukee and its beloved team.
