A.T. Still University Appoints New President for Missouri Campus

A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU) has officially appointed Gaylah Sublette, MBA, as the new president of its Missouri campus, effective July 1. Sublette has been serving as the interim president since July 2024 and was chosen after a careful nationwide search.

Chancellor Craig M. Phelps praised Sublette for her commitment to the university’s mission of holistic healthcare and community service. He noted her leadership skills and collaborative spirit would greatly benefit both the campus and surrounding areas.

Students, faculty, and staff had a chance to engage with candidates during the selection process, highlighting Sublette’s dedication and ability to lead with integrity and vision.

With 38 years at ATSU, Sublette has held various senior positions since beginning her tenure in 1987. Notably, as vice chancellor of research and grants, she established the Sponsored Programs office, helping secure over $100 million in external funding for the university. In her role as interim president, she led ATSU’s Missouri schools, enhancing education and services in healthcare.

Sublette expressed excitement about her new role, looking forward to working with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to further the university’s goals in education, research, and healthcare service.

A native of Hannibal, Sublette holds degrees from Truman State University and William Woods University. She has also contributed to community initiatives, serving on the board for Mark Twain Behavioral Health and participating in national organizations such as the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.
