Exciting Leadership Change: N Venu Takes the Helm as Managing Director of Hitachi India

Hitachi India recently announced that N Venu will step into the role of Managing Director on June 2, 2025. This change follows the promotion of Bharat Kaushal to Executive Chairman, effective April 1, 2025.

Bharat Kaushal made history as Hitachi India’s first Indian MD. His leadership has played a crucial role in driving the company’s growth in India. Now, as Executive Chairman, he aims to continue fostering Hitachi’s evolution in the region.

N Venu brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Currently, he serves as the Managing Director and CEO of Hitachi Energy India and is the Region Head for South Asia at Hitachi Energy. Beginning in June 2025, he will also oversee Hitachi India as MD, adding to his responsibilities.

Under Venu’s leadership, Hitachi plans to expand its presence in India significantly. His focus aligns with the company’s new management strategy, “Inspire 2027,” which emphasizes growth through digital innovation and technology. One of his goals is to unify around 28 Hitachi group companies in India, enhancing value for customers.

India holds immense importance for Hitachi. The company is making strides in sectors such as railways, digital services, energy, financial inclusion, education, and healthcare. Kaushal has emphasized that Venu’s appointment reflects Hitachi’s commitment to integrating India into its global business strategy.

With nearly 40 years of professional experience, N Venu has been a driving force at Hitachi Energy since 2019. His leadership has fueled significant growth in the business. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of the Karnataka Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2024-25.

Venu’s educational background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Warangal, complemented by management studies at IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, and IMD in Switzerland.

The potential impact of N Venu’s appointment is already generating discussion on social media and among industry experts. As companies across various sectors embrace digital transformation, Venu’s expertise positions Hitachi to be a key player in this ongoing shift.

In a recent survey, 75% of industry leaders expressed optimism about the future of digital growth in India. With strategic leadership like Venu at the helm, Hitachi India is well-positioned to adapt and thrive in this evolving landscape.
