Shereef Elnahal, MD, is set to become the new president of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The board plans to officially confirm him in a meeting on June 27. Elnahal comes with a wealth of experience, having previously served as the CEO of the Veterans Health Administration, which manages over 170 medical centers and serves more than 9 million veterans.

A 25-member search committee, which included healthcare professionals from various fields, made the recommendation to appoint Elnahal. Furthermore, Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center has announced Angela Sonon as its senior vice president and chief operating officer, and Valerie Ritter as the new vice president and chief nursing officer.
