Two new leaders have joined Lifepoint Health, taking crucial roles in hospitals with the aim of boosting community health services.
Lourdes Health’s New CEO
Brian Sims has recently stepped in as the CEO of Lourdes Health in Pasco, Washington. With over 17 years in healthcare leadership, Sims brings a wealth of experience. He previously led the Lucas County Health Center in Iowa and was at the helm of the Good Shepherd Health Care System in Oregon.
Sims expressed his enthusiasm in joining Lourdes, stating his commitment to providing quality care and supporting the Tri-Cities community.
Canyon Vista Medical Center’s Leadership Change
Scott Avery has been appointed as the CEO of Canyon Vista Medical Center in Arizona. He had been serving as the interim CEO since June and took on the permanent role in August. With more than 27 years in healthcare, including significant operations experience, Avery previously worked as the COO at Paris Regional Health in Texas.
He emphasizes the importance of the hospital in the region’s health, promising to work closely with staff to ensure top-notch, compassionate care.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Welcomes a New COO
Scott Turner has taken charge as COO at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His healthcare journey spans over 28 years, focusing on pediatrics for 18 of those years. Before this role, he was COO at Children’s Wisconsin, where he oversaw a major $385 million expansion project.
Children’s Healthcare CEO Donna Hyland praised Turner’s specialized skills and noted his arrival comes as the organization prepares for continued growth and patient care enhancements.
Research College of Nursing Appoints a New President
In Kansas City, Amy Townsend has been named president of the Research College of Nursing. This college, linked to Research Medical Center, currently caters to over 160 nursing students. Townsend has led healthcare education for over a decade, most recently as president of Cox College.
Her leadership will be critical as the college embarks on building a new $36.5 million Center for Clinical Advancement, set to open in early 2026.
New CFO in Ohio Healthcare System
Brian Zimmerman has stepped in as the CFO of Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. With 18 years in healthcare finance, he previously served as senior finance director within the same system and has experience at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Zimmerman is eager to continue the mission of Mount Carmel, which operates multiple hospitals in central Ohio, highlighting the commitment and resilience of the team.
