Exciting Leadership Shake-Up at Mid America Pet Food: What It Means for Your Favorite Pet Products

Mid America Pet Food, known for its popular brands like VICTOR Super Premium Pet Food, Nature’s Logic, and Eagle Mountain Pet Food, has recently made some key appointments. Brandon McKay has stepped in as the new chief financial officer, and Dan Baker has become the chief supply chain officer.

Baker isn’t brand new to the role; he’s been in charge of the supply chain on an interim basis for the last year. During this time, he made big changes to improve operations, quality, safety, and customer service. With 30 years of experience in the pet food industry, he has previously held roles at Mars Pet Nutrition and Red Collar Pet Foods.

McKay brings over 20 years of experience, particularly in finance and accounting. He has worked for companies like Flagstone Foods and General Mills. At Mid America Pet Food, he will guide the finance team to help grow the business sustainably.

To strengthen the finance team even further, Collin Rooney has taken on a new role as vice president of financial planning and analytics. Rooney has been with the company since 2022 and will focus on enhancing data analytics capabilities. His background includes experience at PetPeople and Abercrombie & Fitch.

CEO Jeff Caswell expressed confidence in the team, stating that their combined expertise will strengthen the company’s operations and help maintain its reputation as a reliable pet food provider.

In the pet food industry, sustainability and transparency are becoming increasingly crucial. According to a recent survey by the American Pet Products Association, 77% of pet owners consider the quality of pet food to be a top factor in their purchasing decisions, highlighting the importance of trusted brands. This shift emphasizes the need for companies like Mid America Pet Food to focus not only on growth but also on maintaining high standards for pet nutrition.

As the pet food market continues to grow, with an expected value of $128 billion by 2025, it’s clear that strategic leadership appointments will play a major role in navigating this competitive landscape. With Baker, McKay, and Rooney on board, Mid America Pet Food is positioning itself to thrive in a rapidly evolving market.
