[ST. LOUIS, MO – February 18, 2025] – Maryville University is excited to announce that Dr. Daniel Shipp, the current president of Pittsburg State University, will take the role of president at Maryville starting June 2025. He succeeds Dr. Mark Lombardi, who is retiring after 18 successful years.

The Board of Trustees and the search committee wanted a visionary leader who reflects Maryville’s strong focus on innovation and student success. Dr. Shipp stood out as the perfect choice to lead the university into a new phase of growth. He has a rich background in higher education and a strong commitment to advancing new ideas in learning.
