Exciting Lineup Announced for the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Brno!

BRNO, Czechia – The groups for the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup have been drawn. Sixteen teams will compete in this exciting tournament, divided into four groups of four.

Here’s how the groups break down:

  • Group A: USA, Israel, Hungary, Korea
  • Group B: Nigeria, Portugal, Canada, China
  • Group C: Australia, France, Brazil, Mali
  • Group D: Spain, Czechia, Japan, Argentina

All participating teams will move to the knockout phase, with a single-elimination format starting from the Round of 16. The matchups will be determined by group standings—first place from one group plays fourth from the other, and so on. This setup promises thrilling games as teams battle for the championship.

The USA, aiming for their 11th title, have dominated this competition, having won three times in a row. Czechia, who previously hosted this event in 2001 and emerged as champions, will also be looking to make a strong showing on home ground.

The draw was conducted by former Czech players Ivana Vecerova and Eva Viteckova, with notable figures from the Czech Basketball Federation in attendance.

The tournament is set to take place from July 12 to 20 in Brno, Czechia, and excitement is building as teams prepare to compete for the trophy.
