Today, Google launched the March 2025 Pixel Feature Drop, packed with updates for Pixel users. These updates include new features for apps and enhancements for the camera and connectivity.
The latest Gemini Live now utilizes Gemini 2.0 Flash. This upgrade helps users communicate in over 45 languages, allowing seamless conversations without adjusting settings.
On another note, the Pixel 6+ introduces the Talk Live about feature. This lets users discuss images, files, and YouTube videos in real-time. Google is also bringing exciting new features for live camera and screen sharing, thanks to Project Astra.
For those with the Pixel 9, there’s a brand new “Connected Camera” feature. This allows you to link your GoPro HERO10 Black or newer devices to live stream from various perspectives. You can easily switch between cameras and connect to social platforms like YouTube and TikTok via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The Pixel Fold series now offers a Dual Screen mode for video recordings. This lets subjects see themselves on the external display while recording. Plus, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold enhances this feature with an easier alignment tool called Add Me.


The new Satellite SOS feature is now available in Hawaii and Alaska for users on the Pixel 9 series. It allows you to reach emergency services even without cellular service for two years at no cost.
T-Mobile and Verizon customers can use carrier satellite messaging. It allows for 911 services and texting others, and it works with Pixel 9 devices.
First-party app updates are rolling out too. The Pixel Studio can now generate images of people, thanks to updates in Gemini technology.
The Pixel Screenshots app now offers smart suggestions for your collections. You can approve or dismiss screenshots in a new suggestions carousel. This is rolling out to work profiles on Pixel 9 and supports English, Japanese, and German.


In this latest update, Pixel 9 users in Japan can now use Pixel Screenshots, Studio, and AI summaries from Recorder. Discover AI weather updates and a pollen tracker card in Pixel Weather. Meanwhile, users in Germany will also enjoy the same features.
The Phone by Google app now includes real-time Scam Detection, which can recognize common scam patterns. Your phone will alert you with sounds and vibrations if a call is likely a scam. This feature is launching for the Pixel 9 series in the US, utilizing on-device Gemini Nano technology.
Additionally, the Google Messages app now shows scam detection alerts within your conversations. If a potential scam is detected, you can easily report or block the contact. This feature is available in English across the US, UK, and Canada.

Lastly, the Gboard Voice Toolbar is now available on more devices after its debut on the Pixel Tablet.
